“ Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.”
- John Lennon

Born in Liverpool, a child of the sixties, with Beatles music
a backdrop to my life, how could I fail to be influenced by
the psychedelic era?

This series of paintings aims to conjure the excitement and
flavor of the time, whilst also capturing the essence of
each member; their humor, passions, personalities and music.

The surreal effect is evoked by combining watercolor techniques with vivid acrylic paints, inspired in part, by Richard Avedon’s iconic Beatles portraits for Life magazine.

They were exhibited in the Liverpool Academy of Arts
“Come Together” exhibition, in the Summer of 2011.
