Ted Hayward. Born, Canada, 1974.

My art is of disappearing peoples, wildlife and landscapes. I can’t imagine a more varied world than our planet. I have no formal art training –the natural world, in all its color and texture, is my tutor. My search of subjects has taken me from British Columbia, Canada, to the Republic of China, where I now reside. Even here, it’s possible to find beauty amongst the chaos of modern urbanization and industrial revolution. I document Mans' relationship with nature in settings where natural beauty seems uncommon. My paintings of people also document something that is quickly disappearing; as the crisis of our oceans affects those people who rely on this most basic natural gift, for sustenance, and for their way of life.
